Highlights of Homecoming 2010

Good friends…good food…and a good time was had by all at Homecoming 2010.

Thank you to the alumnae/i and their families who joined us on a beautiful fall day at our third annual Homecoming. More than 200 people attended and listened to the SMWC Madrigals, participated in bed races (always a crowd favorite), cheered on the soccer and softball teams and took time to celebrate and reminisce.

The weekend kicked off with the SMARTS Breakfast, where we recognized Dr. Jennifer LaCivita as the SMARTS Alum of the Year Award for her inspiring commitment and enthusiasm for recruiting prospective students.

The campus welcomed back Jayne Ann Claussen ’92, education major, as she shared stories about how her SMWC experiences contributed to where she is today. The Office of the President hosted a reception in her honor for the campus community to mingle and network with this successful alumna.

The evening wrapped up with the soulful sounds of recording artist, Cari Ray’96. Whether performing solo or with her band, Ray is a singer/songwriter and performer who stops audiences in their tracks and has critics sitting up to pay attention. Ray’s original music has been compared with the work of artists from Bonnie Raitt to Lucinda Williams to Sheryl Crow. Ray has become an artist of note on MTV's Ourstage.com, a website dedicated to connecting fans of independent music with emerging artists. www.cariray.com

We look forward to welcoming home our alumnae/i,family and friends again next year for the Homecoming 2011.
