Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College head basketball coach Deanna Bradley is proud to announce a new addition to the Pomeroy basketball team.  On Friday, May 9, Leah Myers signed a letter of intent to join the Pomeroys for the 2014-15 season.

Myers currently attends Olney Central College in Olney, Ill.  She was a 2012 graduate of Bedford North Lawrence High School in Bedford, Ind.   The 5-foot-10 forward was a four-year letterwinner for the Stars.  During her sophomore through senior seasons at Bedford North Lawrence, Myers led her team with the highest field goal percentage.  At Olney Central, she was named to the Great Rivers Athletic Conference All-Academic Team.

“Leah has a good inside-out game, runs the floor well, and is very aggressive,” said Bradley.  “In addition to her two years at Olney, she played at a high level in high school and knows how to win.  We are excited about adding her experience to our roster for next season.”

Myers becomes the fourth basketball signee for the 2014 recruiting class.

“I am very excited that I signed with SMWC,” said Myers.  “I feel like I’ll fit in well and that I will have a wonderful collegiate experience while attending SMWC.”

Leah is the daughter of Brad and Sherry Myers and plans to be a pre-veterinary major at SMWC.
