After a week off of racing, the Pomeroy Cross Country team had an amazing race at the Manchester University Invitational. Every athlete who competed earned lifetime personal records. Leading the way was Stephanie Runyon with an eighth place finish in 23:42. Coming in next for the team and also placing in the top 25 was Logan Fry in 14th place with the time of in 24:12. CJ Barnett and Lauren Sutton demonstrated awesome teamwork by finishing within seconds of each other in 25:30 (25th place) and 25:32 (26th place) respectively. Erin Harnett showed extreme mental and physical toughness, rounding out the scoring for the Pomeroys in 26:27 (37th place). Sarah Hudson 26:40 and Corianna Frederick 26:53 each ran strong races, running to 40th and 42nd places. Nicole Nyers brought it home, kicking it in to the finish in 63rd place.
As a team, SMWC finished fourth out of six teams. The team will be back in action for its final meet of the regular season on Saturday October 20 at the Saint Louis College of Pharmacy Invitational.
