Pomeroys finish eighth at Madison Kiwanis Invite

Hanover, Ind. – The SMWC cross country team earned an eighth place team finish at the Madison Kiwanis Invitational over the weekend.  The Pomeroys finished with 223 points in the nine team field that featured some of the best Midwest’s best NCAA Division III teams.  

Logan Fry was the Pomeroys’ top finisher, earning a time of 21:31, placing 37th out of 110 runners.  She almost duplicated her time from a week ago, finishing one second over in the five-kilometer meet.  Erin Harnett was SMWC’s second best finisher, crossing the finish line in 51st place overall and with a time of 22:18.  Freshman Sarah Wichman also ran well, finishing one second better than her previous meet, clocking in at 24:21. 

The Pomeroy cross country team will return to action on Saturday, Sept. 14 when they travel to Grand Rapids, Mich. and take part in the Knight Invitational hosted by Calvin College.  The women’s race is scheduled for a 10 a.m. start.
