Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College head cross country coach Danelle Readinger is proud to announce a new addition to the Pomeroy cross country team.  On Wednesday, May 21, Kitty Taylor signed a letter of intent to join the Pomeroys for the 2014 season.

Taylor is currently a senior at Castle High School in Newburgh, Ind.  She was a three-year letterwinner in cross country for the Knights.  She also ran track and field in all four seasons of her prep career.  In cross country, Taylor was named a 2013 All-SIAC (Southern Indiana Athletic Conference) First Team selection. She qualified to run in the IHSAA (Indiana High School Athletic Association) semi-state cross country meet during her sophomore and senior year.  She was also a recipient of the Kiwanis Mental Attitude Award.

Academically, Taylor has proven herself as a very strong student in the classroom.  She was a member of the National Honor Society and named a Scholastic “C” Award winner for her achievements as a student at Castle High School.

Readinger is proud to welcome the third signee of the 2014 class and newest member of the Pomeroy squad.  “Kitty is vibrant, dedicated, and talented” said Readinger.  “She will be a great addition to the SMWC cross country team.”

Taylor also expressed her excitement in joining with the Pomeroy team this fall.  “I am very excited to know that the sport I love has helped me get into a college that will influence me,” said Taylor.  “I’ve already met some of the girls on the team and I know that we have great chemistry.  I can’t wait to start running with them!”

Kitty is the daughter of Sarah Taylor and plans to major in art therapy at SMWC.
