Patterson medals as Pomeroys fall to Brescia

Sept. 11, 2013

Owensboro, Ky. – Morgan Patterson was the top performer of the day, earning medalist honors in a dual match with Brescia University on a hot Tuesday afternoon at Ben Hawes Golf Course.  The SMWC golf team was unable to garner the dual match victory, dropping a 363-337 decision to the host Lady Bearcats.

Paterson shot a season and match-best 84 on the afternoon for the Pomeroys.  Sloane Engle and Kelsey Fuqua were back in action after being unable to compete last weekend at the Hanover Invite.  Both players were not far off from Patterson, with Engle carding an 86 and Fuqua shooting an 87.  Abby Abel (105), Shelby French (110), and Kelsi Brown (120) rounded out the team scoring for the Pomeroys.

The golf team returns to action on this Saturday (Sept. 14) in a home match with Brescia University and Oakland City University.  The golf match will take place at Rea Park Golf Course in Terre Haute and is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
