Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (SMWC) cross country coach Danelle Readinger announced the signings of two student athletes for the fall of 2012. Erin Harnett has been a member of the Tigers varsity cross-country team for four years.

After coming back from an injury in her junior season, she recorded her personal best of 19:49 at the Hoosier Crossroads conference. Also during her junior year, she received the team’s mental attitude award.

Harnett is the recipient of the prestigious Saint Mother Theodore Guerin scholarship, which recognizes students who have used their unique experiences, aptitudes and abilities to make a difference in their local communities and beyond. She plans to study education at the College.

“Erin is a strong competitor and her enthusiasm for the sport will add strength to our team,” commented Readinger.

Harnett is the daughter of Cary Harnett and Jill and Dan Daupert.

A scholar athlete, Hudson is the recipient of the Top Ten on 10 scholarship and plans to major in pre-professional studies-physical therapy. She is the daughter of Connie and David Hudson.

“Sarah’s work ethic, dedication and mental toughness will add energy that will serve our team well,” said Readinger. “She will be a great asset.”
