With over 20 years of experience in construction, maintenance and facilities management, Gregory K. Luken joins Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (SMWC) as director of facilities.

As director of facilities at SMWC, Luken will be responsible for organizing, budgeting, coordinating and directing activities related to facilities operations, grounds and custodial services. He will oversee construction and renovation projects, the performance of all mechanical systems, cleaning functions, general maintenance and repairs on campus buildings. Additionally, Luken will manage the Environmental Management System (EMS).

“We feel very fortunate to have Greg join The Woods in this capacity,” states SMWC Vice President for Finance and Administration Gordon Afdahl. “His years of experience will greatly benefit us, and we look forward to his expertise in managing our facilities.”

Luken’s most recent position was the facilities manager at Hamilton Center. Before that, Luken served as the physical plant superintendent with the Terre Haute Housing Authority for over ten years and was the interim director of maintenance for a twelve-month period. Earlier in his career, he was a residential general contractor. Luken earned his bachelor’s degree in Industrial Supervision from Indiana State University.
