Kennedy Nelson signs with SMWC

Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (SMWC) head basketball coach Deanna Bradley announced a new addition to the Pomeroys. Kennedy Nelson signed a letter of intent to join the Pomeroys for the 2013-14 season.

“Kennedy’s size and skill will help on us both ends of the floor,” said Bradley. “She runs the floor well and will be an asset both defensively and offensively in the paint.”

The 6-foot-3 center from Paoli High School in Paoli, Ind., averages 13 ppg, 9 rpg and 2.5 bpg while shooting 49 percent from the field.  Nelson helped the Rams to a 19-7 record last season, while on their way to winning both the Patoka Lake Conference and Sectional Championships.

Nelson, the daughter of Toni Kennedy, plans to study pre-vet and equine studies at SMWC.
