High school students take first step toward nursing career at SMWC summer camp

The smile on each young lady’s face was one of pride and accomplishment as each received her pin for completing the nursing camp at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (SMWC). Nine future nurses received their certificates during the pinning ceremony on Friday, June 26, 2015, culminating their weeklong hands-on educational experience and glimpse into the field of nursing.

SMWC exceeds Woods Fund goal

As the 2014-15 fiscal year comes to an end, Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College proudly announces that the Woods Fund goal has been met for the first time since the 2007-2008 fiscal year. The College surpassed its goal of $950,000 and raised $980,177.35.

“We are not called upon to do all the good possible, but only that which we can do.” These are the words of Saint Mother Theodore Guerin, Indiana’s first saint and the foundress of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (SMWC). As Veronica “Roni” O’Connor, of Indianapolis, Ind., reflected on everything her team of over 25 SMWC alums accomplished with students at St. Roch Catholic Church and School during SMWC’s Week of Service, this quote resonated with her.
