Laura Mabry's passion is to work with young children and their families to help them build a strong foundation of learning skills for the future. By offering children challenges in their areas of strength and guidance in their areas of weakness, she will help pave the way for many children to be successful in their lives. Laura is married and has a 7-year-old son. She valued the flexibility that the Woods Online program offered which allowed her to balance homework with her family, work and every day chores.
“I chose Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College because I wanted a college that viewed me as an individual. I also wanted to earn a degree from a liberal arts college. With Woods Online, I am able to balance my homework with my family, work and everyday chores. It isn’t always easy but it is doable with a ‘can do’ attitude. SMWC is a great college and I’m proud to be called a ‘Woodsie.’”

Deborah Gatchel graduated with honors from the Woods Online program at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. Deborah runs her own day preschool facility.
“My degree will help me in meeting the needs of the children that are enrolled in my all day preschool. It also shows parents that by enrolling their child in my facility that their child’s educational needs are being met by a qualified teacher. My accomplishment of graduating from college is also a testimony to others that it is never too late to go after your dreams."

Christina Pearison is a Woods Online Student majoring in Human Serivces. Her future goal is to work in a hospital setting in the psychology department.
“I chose Woods Online because of the flexibility of the schedules, with a full time family and full time job, it just made more sense. Even though it's online the access to the teachers and the access to everybody at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods is so good about getting back to you and the communication is so open that even though you're online, you actually feel like you're there in the classroom with the other students."

"I chose Woods Online because of the reputation of SMWC and the convenience of being able to work full-time and go to school.
My favorite thing about Woods Online is being able to work full-time , raise a family and still having the time to go back to school. If it wasn't for Woods Online I wouldn't be able to further my education.
My favorite class so far has been Healthcare Administration class because it’s what I am going back to school for. It’s interesting learning about how technology has change in the health care field."
