Learning Resource Center

SMWC provides a wide range of academic support services for all students through the Learning Resource Center (LRC), now located on the North Wing of the Library, 2nd Floor. The LRC is equipped with plenty of study space and materials and will be open for students’ use during Library hours.

The LRC currently offers walk-in hours - no appointment needed. Walk-in writing hours can be writing assistance in ANY subject/course.

Academic Support Team

The Academic Support Team is a one-on-one partnership between designated, experienced faculty members and individual students in need of additional academic support.

The Learning Resource Center offers CLEP (College-Level Examination Program).

LC 110/111: Succeeding in the College Environment I and II

The purpose of LC 110 and 111 is to enhance academic success and life skills through the development and reinforcement of essential strategies in studying, test taking, written and oral communication, time management, and more. The strategies and skills learned in LC 110 and 111 will be transferrable and applicable to all future courses at SMWC and will allow students to gain confidence in their ability to be successful at SMWC and beyond.

Learning Express Library

Create an account using your SMWC email through Learning Express Library to access a variety of study materials including GRE preparation, CLEP practice tests, study skill tips and much more. Brush up on your knowledge in some of your Core classes before you take them.

The Learning Resource Center offers individualized peer tutoring on a wide variety of topics.

Writing Center

The Writing Center provides writing assistance during our open tutoring hours. Students are encouraged to schedule an appointment in advance, but walk-ins are welcome.
