Numerous employers search for employees with a liberal arts education, which is where the majority of English degrees come from. Many career options come with earning a degree in English. From jobs that involve writing, to working closely with media content, there’s plenty of opportunities to find the perfect career for you. Check out seven careers that you can pursue with an English degree.

1. Higher education

A position in higher education can have a varying daily schedule. From working with the central administrative department and individual department offices, you’ll have a job that is both crucial to your institution, but also enjoyable. With great communication skills, you will have opportunities to recruit students and build relationships with those in the community.

Job tasks can include:

  • Recruit, train and manage current and new staff members
  • Handling correspondence
  • Prepare statistics from different enrollment numbers

2. Marketing associate

Tasks range from preparing reports on marketing and sales methods, to displaying your strong work ethic.
