Why did you choose The Woods?
I chose The Woods because of the small, home-like feeling it has. During my visit, I loved how everyone knew each other — there was not a stranger in sight. Those are the connections that you miss out on going to a bigger school.
What do you do for fun on campus?
My favorite thing to do for fun on campus is to go on bike rides or runs. Both activities allow me to de-stress, see the wildlife we have right at our fingertips, and just take time to myself.
What do you like about living in Le Fer Hall?
I love living in Le Fer Hall because of the history it has within the walls, and I love how friendships strengthen here. Whether it’s playing games in center, watching movies in someone’s room, or cooking for a big group of people, the bonds we can create here are unimaginable.
What advice do you have for freshmen?
Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. Being involved with campus clubs and activities opens so many possibilities for growth and bonds with peers and faculty. It may seem awkward at first, but chances are you’ll be happy you did it.
Reflect on your time at The Woods:
My time at The Woods has transformed me into a more confident individual. Before coming here, I was stuck in a shell. But now I pass by strangers and say hi and ask them about their day. I am on the executive board for the Student Activities Committee and am a member of the Student Nurses Association. All those things would not be possible without the guidance and positive atmosphere The Woods provides. There is peace and friendship everywhere I turn and I cannot be more proud to call myself a Woodsie.
