To recognize students who embody the principles by which our foundress, Mother Theodore Guerin lived and served, SMWC created the Saint Mother Theodore Guerin Scholarship Competition. First-time freshman nationwide who have used their unique experiences, aptitudes and abilities to make a difference in their local communities and beyond are encouraged to apply for the scholarship.
Finalists will be invited to interviews on February 26, 2022.

How is the interview structured?
Applicants will interview with 3 members from a committee consisting of one current SMTG Scholar, One SMWC Staff member, and one SMWC Faculty member.
How long is the interview?
The interview should be completed between 10 – 15 minutes. Admissions staff will escort students to their interview panel at the appropriate time.
Is there a virtual opportunity to interview?
For applicants that are unable to travel to campus for an interview, a Microsoft Teams virtual interview can be arranged.
How do I prepare for the interview?
SMWC Admissions staff will send information directly to the students on what information they should be prepared to discuss during the interview.
What time should I arrive for the interview?
Applicants should arrive 15 minutes before their scheduled interview block time.
When will recipients of the scholarship be notified?
Scholarships recipients will be notified via phone by the end of February. All others who competed will receive a letter in the mail notifying them of their status.
