Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (SMWC), in conjunction with the Global Leadership Institute and the Ph.D. in Global Leadership program, announced the 2024 Excellence in Global Leadership Award.

The International Center received the 2024 Excellence in Global Leadership distinction, which recognizes an individual or organization who demonstrates a passion for the field of global leadership and significantly contributes to the increase of knowledge and application of global leadership into the world. The International Center’s contributions of excellence in the field of global leadership are recognized through their professional development initiatives, including but not limited to the Morris Global Leadership Series, relocation services, international visitor programs, community engagement and various additional efforts that enhance global awareness while also embracing glocal (globally local) perspectives, especially those rooted in Indiana. Recently, The International Center provided an International Protocol Workshop for doctoral students at the Ph.D. in Global Leadership annual on-campus program engagement event where Peter Kirkland also accepted the award on behalf of The International Center following the workshop.
Kimberly LaComba, Ph.D., director of the Ph.D. in Global Leadership program at SMWC stated, “We are honored to recognize The International Center’s commitment to global leadership-focused initiatives while also serving as practitioners with a global mindset. Their efforts surrounding global leadership are admirable.” The International Center is a catalyst to inform, convene and connect public, private and civic global objectives in Indiana while encouraging global collaborations that expand even beyond the Hoosier state.
