Blog | 10.16.2024

Leaves falling, shades of orange, red, yellow and more – the fall season is here! Check out fun fall activities you can enjoy in the Terre Haute area.

1. Pumpkins or Apples?
It’s the season of pumpkin spice and apple cider. What better way to celebrate fall than going to a pumpkin patch or apple orchard? From hayrides to taking fun photos, there are plenty of pumpkin patches and orchards within 10 to 20 miles of Terre Haute.

2. Have a fall picnic
A great way to embrace the fall weather is to have a picnic! Terre Haute is home to several parks that serve as a great setting for a fall picnic. Just pack your basket, grab some friends and head to the park of your choice. Not a park person? SMWC’s beautiful campus is the perfect setting for a fall picnic.

3. Walk it out
Along with being home to several parks, Terre Haute also has several trails that range from 2 miles long to over 10 miles. These trails will take you through a variety of places in town and provide the perfect scenery for a fall walk.

4. Attend a local market or festival
Terre Haute is home to several locally owned businesses that can be found at fall markets, the Terre Haute Farmer’s Market and the Covered Bridge Festival, which is known throughout the Wabash Valley.

5. Fall movie marathon
Fall evenings can be chilly, but you can still embrace the season indoors. A movie night with friends in a lounge or dorm is a great way to embrace fall. Are you still looking to be outside? Terre Haute has it’ own drive-in movie theater, the Moonlite Drive-in!
