Emma Lynch

Name: Emma Lynch
Major: Accounting
Hometown: Seelyville, Indiana

1. Why did you choose to earn your degree at SMWC?
I chose to earn my degree at SMWC because it was close to home! Another reason was that I could continue my running career here at The Woods. The Woods has a calm and homey feeling to it, which drew me in even more. I am forever grateful for my time here at The Woods; it has truly been so special to me, and I will remember it forever.

2. Why did you choose your major?
At first, I was majoring in Business Administration and liked the accounting classes I was in, so I decided to change it to accounting to focus more on it.

3. What is your favorite place on campus?
My favorite place on campus is the Learning Resource Center (LRC). It is my favorite place to focus and do homework!

4. What have you been involved in (student clubs and organizations, sports teams, etc.) during your time at SMWC?
Throughout my time here at The Woods, I have been involved in cross country, track and field, as well as served as an Admissions Ambassador, an LRC tutor and many countless opportunities helping those around me. I have loved helping Maggie Higgins and Martha Reed in the Career Center whenever they needed it!

5. What is a favorite memory you have from your Woods experience?
My favorite memory from my Woods experience probably is being a part of the cross country team and all the places I have gotten to travel and see! Vancouver, Washington and Branson, Missouri, are just a couple! Ring Day is a favorite as well! It was so exhilarating and emotional to finally receive my Woods Ring.

6. How do you plan to stay connected to SMWC after graduating?
After graduation, I plan to stay connected by giving back to The Woods during Woods Giving Day. I also plan to wear my ring my whole life out in the world and hopefully pass it down to someone else someday to keep the legacy alive.
