Reel began her professional career at SMWC in February 2022 as the content marketing manager in the Office of Marketing and Communications. She earned her undergraduate degree from The Woods in professional writing with a minor in marketing and served as a student worker and intern in the department while attending SMWC. Reel is pursuing her master’s degree in leadership development at The Woods.

“I have absolutely loved working in the Office of Marketing and Communications and am looking forward to growing further in this new role with the advancement and marketing team,” Reel said.

As the College’s advancement officer, Reel will work to ensure that The Woods meets its financial goals through fundraising and special event coordination. She will manage annual giving initiatives and strive to build a strong culture of philanthropy within the SMWC community.

“As a student, some of my favorite memories consisted of connecting with alumni and donors, sharing my Woods experience and hearing their stories of how The Woods impacted them. I’m excited to be a part of current fundraising efforts while implementing unique ways for us to connect with our donors and ensure the future of SMWC students together,” Reel said.

The goal for the Woods Fund is to reach $3 million by June 30. The College is coming off its best Woods Giving Day in history, raising more than $1 million on February 4.

Saunders is eager for Reel to get started in her new role. “Izzy is an ideal advancement officer. I have been a witness to her professional development from as early as her volunteer service as a student leader. Her passion for our alma mater is contagious, and we are blessed to have the opportunity to capitalize on her many strengths as she joins the fundraising team. I look forward to working with Izzy in this capacity as we advance SMWC together.”
