The department of Music and Theatre presents a guest artist recital featuring:
Alison Brown Sincoff, flute and piccolo
assisted by
Ronald Maurey, piano
on Wednesday March 24, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. in the Cecilian Auditorium, Conservatory Building.
The program includes works of G.P.Telemann, Lili Boulanger, Poulenc, and Debussy.
Alison Brown Sincoff, Associate Professor of Flute at Ohio University, was awarded the School of Music’s Distinguished Teacher of the Year Award in 2009. With Ohio University colleague, Gail Berenson (piano), she frequently performs as member of the Ohio University Lyric Duo. In the summer of 2002, she collaborated with the Eastman Conservatory’s Ying Quartet as a part of a two-week summer chamber residency in Montana. In 2003, Ms. Brown Sincoff traveled to Argentina to perform and present master classes as a part of a faculty exchange program with Ohio University and the Universidad Nacional de Cuyo in Mendoza and the Conservatorio Nacional de Música y Artes Escénicas of Buenos Aires. Also in 2003, Ms. Brown Sincoff was invited to perform George Crumb’s An Idyll for the Misbegotten for amplified flute and three percussion at the University of Dayton’s Contemporary Music Festival. George Crumb was the featured composer for this festival. In July of 1997, Ms. Brown Sincoff was one of two Americans selected to perform at the 4th International Flute Competition in Kobe, Japan
