Health Science Concentration
The Kinesiology – Health Science concentration is designed to provide students with a background in maintaining healthy bodies and successful aging behaviors from a human wellness perspective and the impact that health promotion plays in communities and in the overall public health. Students will sharpen their critical thinking skills and increase their knowledge of health care and the current challenges facing our health.
Specific coursework includes theories of addictions, health behaviors, psychosocial aspects of sport, abnormal psychology, community health, crisis intervention, and techniques of counseling.
Minors of possible interest to students pursuing this degree include Addiction Counseling, Myoskeletal Massage Therapy, Equine Assisted Therapy, Marketing, and Pre-Art Therapy.
