Preacher Moss

Master storyteller Preacher Moss, described as one of the best comedy-lectures on the college circuit today, will have the audience thinking and laughing as he performs on January 18, 2011 at 8 p.m. in Sullivan Lounge at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College.

As a former writer for Saturday Night Live, In Living Color, My Wife and Kids and The George Lopez Show, Moss’s comedy is distinguished for being fashioned out of everyday of life and engaging audiences in contemporary issues facing society. He has also appeared on Comedy Central and Politically Incorrect.

The Association for the Promotions of Campus Activities voted his End of Racism Comedy and Lecture Tour as “Best Diversity Act” on college campuses in 2008 and 2009. Described as intelligent, thought provoking and “seriously funny,” Moss performs to audiences all over the country, offering the perspective of being both black and Muslim in America.

The End of Racism is not just the name of the tour, but a commitment shared by many. Moss knows how to deliver the goods on how audiences see race through laughter.

“Comedy is a great way to bring out the irony of situations but also to give a meaningful contribution to the truth,” said Moss. “What it is and what it could be.”

Moss plays to the hearts and minds of college students, faculty and administrators all across the country. With his insight on racial understanding vs. racial interaction, he has quickly become one of the funniest social commentators on the college scene today.

The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College Student Association Committee is sponsoring the event. For more information, contact Director Campus Life, Jeff Malloy at (812) 535-5219.
