Darla Hopper, MLD, associate vice president for financial aid and admissions for Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (SMWC), announced a recent promotion and some certifications for their office.
Amy Houser ’02, M.Ed., has been promoted to director of financial aid. She will help oversee the daily functions of the Office of Financial Aid. Houser is one of fifteen financial aid professionals in Indiana that holds the national financial aid credential, FAAC, showing commitment to professional development and ethical behavior in financial aid, and is VA School Certifying Official (SCO) for SMWC.
Additionally, each member of the financial aid office has earned their credentials to be an SCO, including Hopper and Houser. In total, the financial aid staff has earned 19 National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA) learning credentials.
Hopper, who is also FAAC credentialed, said, “SMWC is investing in their financial aid staff through professional development opportunities and certifications. This investment will help ensure the College provides the best financial aid options for our students.”
