Kaylee White signs with the Pomeroys

Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (SMWC) is proud to announce that Kylee White signed a letter of intent to accept a soccer scholarship with the Pomeroys on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Decatur Central High School, Indianapolis, Ind.

White is a talented multi-sport athlete who has made a significant mark in central Indiana soccer. She combines speed and athleticism with great confidence and sharp technical skill in tight space. A four-year varsity starter at Decatur Central, she has been honored as the Hawks’ MVP, all-conference in the Mid-State, all-county, and all-area as a performer, playing positions from back to front. She was named to participate in both east-west and north-south all-star showcases, and has captained her club team. In two years of track, she has won eighth place in the high jump, both at the county level and the mid-state tournament, with this year’s results still to come.

Her academic achievements are a match for her athletic talents. Ranked high in her graduating class and graduating with an honors diploma, she has been named to the National Honor Society and the National Society for High School Scholars. Kylee has also been elected Choice Community Class President and Student Council representative. She will serve as a speaker for her class at graduation ceremonies. At SMWC she has been awarded the Presidential Scholarship for academic merit.

This combination makes White one of this year’s prime prospects for The Woods’ soccer program. Coach Mike Aycock offered high praise for White’s talent and potential: “Kylee is such a polished and athletic player that we can see several places where she could make us better as a team. We’re excited to see how she will best fit in, but very confident that she’ll be a major contributor right away. I’m sure I’m not the only one who will be very glad to see her coming to The Woods in the fall.”

The Pomeroys won bids to the USCAA national soccer tournament in 2009 and 2010, finishing as runners-up in 2009.
