By Elise Lowe, criminology and human services double major

My name is Elise Lowe, and I am from Vincennes, Indiana. I grew up Catholic and attended a Catholic school (Vincennes Rivet) all the way from pre-school to my senior year. The small community and familiarity that Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (SMWC) brought me was a big influence on my decision to come here. I just finished my sophomore year here at SMWC. I am double majoring in human services and criminology. I hope to use these two majors to eventually get my master’s in social work.

I have a passion for working with kids and providing families with the best resources to improve their situations. I am a member of the volleyball team and also a member of the cheer team. I have played volleyball here since my freshman year but just joined the cheer team this last school year. I am also a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA).

I enjoy being involved in different things on campus and creating new connections. In my free time, I like to spend time with my friends and family, and I love being outside. I also have recently been volunteering my time to coach volleyball with some of the girls at the Terre Haute Boys and Girls Club.

Elise Lowe is a current sophomore at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (SMWC), majoring in human services and criminology. She is from Vincennes, Indiana and is a lifelong Catholic. She chose to come here because she was compelled by the Catholic background of the campus, along with her love to continue playing volleyball. She is a member of the SMWC Women’s Volleyball team and also a member of the SMWC Cheer team. After graduating, Elise plans to continue her education and get her master’s degree in social work. In her free time, Elise is either hanging out with her friends or family, or she is engaging in some sort of physical activity.
