All Woods Online scholarships
Unless otherwise noted, the following scholarships are awarded at the time of admission for qualifying Woods Online students attending SMWC in a degree-seeking program. Students must maintain scholarship requirements to renew the award. SMWC awards are applied to tuition only and will be reduced or replaced by federal, state or outside award offers.
All awards are subject to reduction or replacement by other offers or awards.
A student’s account balance must be in good standing to renew all SMWC awards..
If you are receiving SAGE Tuition Reward Points, those points have been included in your SMWC award offer.
SMWC Woods Online Scholarship
Amount: Up to $2,000 per year. Amount based on enrollment status. Students receiving special billing rates or are in special programs (Music and Paramedic to BSN) are not eligible to receive this award.
Qualifications: In addition to being a degree-seeking Woods Online student, students must also be enrolled at least half-time status to receive the award.
Renewable Requirements: Students must maintain a 2.5 GPA and make satisfactory academic progress towards their degree to renew the scholarship for the duration of their program. Other SMWC awards or offers may reduce or replace this award.
Post 911 GI Bill/Yellow Ribbon Program
Amount: The state of Indiana’s highest cost of tuition as determined by the Veterans Administration. SMWC and VA will award funds to cover the total cost of tuition and fees.
Qualifications: Qualifications determined by the Department of Veteran Affairs as determined by the Post 911 GI Bill and Yellow Ribbon Program requirements. Cannot be combined.
Renewable Requirements: Students must maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA and satisfactory academic progress towards their degree to renew the scholarship.
Woods Online Scholarship Policy
- Scholarships are awarded at the time of admission to SMWC. SMWC reserves the right to adjust scholarship amounts & criteria from year to year; however, the student will maintain the award offered at the time of admission.
- Students must be degree-seeking and at least half-time enrollment status. Award amounts are determined by enrollment status. Woods Online students are not eligible for campus scholarships.
- SMWC scholarships are valid for the duration of the student’s program as long as they are at least half-time enrollment status.
- SMWC awards will only pay for courses required for degree completion. Once the student has completed the requirements for their first baccalaureate degree at SMWC, no additional disbursements of SMWC aid will be allowed unless the student is pursuing a dual degree.
- Students may add minor(s) to their program; however, the minors must be completed by the end of their degree. If the program does not require a minor, then the minor credits do not count towards degree completion and cannot be paid with Title IV aid, unless they also meet some other degree completion requirement such as electives or credits towards the major.
- SMWC aid will only cover dual majors if the second major is declared prior to completing the first major.
- Students must adhere to scholarship guidelines to renew the award.
- If a student withdraws from SMWC, their awards are not guaranteed if they choose to return.
- SMWC scholarships cannot be used for study abroad courses. However, students may use federal/state aid (including loans) to cover study abroad courses as long as they are required for their degree. Students are encouraged to plan ahead and apply for one of the SMWC Study Abroad Scholarships.
- Woods Online scholarships cannot be used for campus or graduate courses.
- SMWC reserves the right to reduce/replace SMWC awards with other scholarship offers or awards.
