Guest artist Marques Jerrell Ruff, an acclaimed singer, conductor and scholar of Black music will be presenting a musical discussion/performance. His presentation ‘The Evolution of the Negro Spiritual’ is a community discussion on the origins and development of the Negro spiritual from the period of enslavement to the present day.
