Four Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (SMWC) graduates will showcase their acting talents at this season’s Crossroads Repertory Theatre. These professional actors will share their passions, skills and experience by delivering high-quality theater performances. The SMWC alums will perform in “Godspell,” “1001 Arabian Nights” and “Crimes of the Heart.”
Crossroads Repertory Theatre, a professional theater company with a respected forty-year history, offers compelling and diverse theater to the Wabash Valley annually from June through July. Located on the campus of Indiana State University, the season opens with “Godspell” on June 17, 2011.
The theatre company uniquely combines professional actors, designers and directors with community actors and advanced graduate and undergraduate students. As the only professional theater company in the Wabash Valley, it has attracted artists and technicians from California, Connecticut, Illinois, New York, Ohio, South Carolina and Wisconsin.
Betsy Baer ’09 will join the Crossroad Repertory Theatre for a second season in productions of “1001 Arabian Nights” and “Godspell.” Baer sings professionally with the Fabulous Forties Jazz Orchestra.
Whitney Kos ’10 will perform in “Godspell” and in “1001 Arabian Nights.” Kos, teaches eighth grade English and literature at Clay County Schools in Indiana.
Amanda Miller ’08 returns to Crossroads Repertory Theatre for a third season to perform in “Crimes of the Heart” and “Godspell.”
Carolyn Conover ’03 returns to Crossroads Repertory Theatre for her seventh season to perform in “Crimes of the Heart” and “1001 Arabian Nights.”
Conover is an instructor of classical, modern and contemporary drama, theatre history and introduction to theatre at Franklin College. She also serves as the director of the theater department.
Through production, performance and experienced faculty, the arts at SMWC bring together talent, knowledge and skills that celebrate artistic expression and cultural enlightenment.
