SMWC exceeds Woods Fund goal

News | 07.02.2015

As the 2014-15 fiscal year comes to an end, Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College proudly announces that the Woods Fund goal has been met for the first time since the 2007-2008 fiscal year. The College surpassed its goal of $950,000 and raised $980,177.35.

“We are so very appreciative of the many alums and friends who have contributed to the College reaching and exceeding this year’s Woods Fund goal,” states Karen Dyer, SMWC vice president for advancement. “This year, SMWC raised $191,367 more than last year in unrestricted giving, which has put the College on track to meet its budgetary goals for fundraising for the first time since 2008.”

Unrestricted gifts are a critical part of the College’s annual budget, and help to maintain the Woods experience through supporting student scholarships, academic growth, faculty excellence in teaching and our Catholic values of service and social responsibility. Woods Fund contributions also enhance facilities, advance technology and support student services, athletics and more.

“The Woods Fund makes it possible for students at SMWC to be empowered to meld intellect and spirituality, direct ambition, attain goals and stretch beyond the imagination in college to Aspire Higher,” states Dyer.

Gifts are still being tallied, and those gifts postmarked by June 30, 2015, will be added to the running total. A final number will be available in mid-July.
