Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (SMWC) announced the selection of the students who will be the Commencement speakers on May 10. Jonathan Hayden will speak during the campus undergraduate ceremony at 10 a.m. and Eleni Miller will speak during the Woods Online and graduate ceremony at 3 p.m. Both ceremonies will be held in the Hamilton Arena in the Jeanne Knoerle Sports and Recreation Center.
Jonathan Hayden from Linton, Indiana, will receive his Bachelor of Arts in Theology and is the final Theology major at SMWC. He plans to enroll in graduate school to earn a higher degree in Philosophy.
Eleni Miller will receive her Master of Science in Nursing and is the chairperson of nursing at the Vigo County School Corporation. Originally from Carmel, Indiana, Miller received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Indiana University School of Nursing in December 2006.
Nominations were submitted for candidates by students, faculty and staff. A committee reviewed the submissions and selected the speakers from the pool of nominees.
