Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (SMWC) will have its Priority Registration event on Thursday, April 7 and Friday, April 8. Incoming freshmen and transfer students can meet with faculty and staff, learn about electives and major-specific courses and set their fall schedules. Students can also finalize other items such as housing, student IDs and parking permits. Informational tables will be set up with staff on hand to answer questions for students and their families.
“Students that come to Priority Registration get first choice of classes for all incoming students. Students will meet with their academic advisor and get their schedule for the fall, have individual meetings with Financial Aid and the Business Office, and be able to complete all paperwork needed to begin classes. Our goal is to have a one-stop shop experience where students complete everything needed to begin classes,” said Chris Lozier, executive director of admissions.
Once a student has registered, an admissions counselor will reach out to arrange an arrival time and appointment time for them. Appointments are staggered to limit crowds and lessen wait times, moving the student through the process in about an hour and a half.
The event will run from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 7 and from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 8. The event will be held in the McMahon Ballroom in Le Fer Hall.
