The Office of Marketing and Communications at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (SMWC) is pleased to welcome Camryn Scott ’22, ’23 MLD as athletic and community partnerships manager. After earning her undergraduate degree, Scott completed dolphin training internships at two different out-of-state facilities. “It was a fun time, and I’ll always be glad I did it.” Scott then served as an office manager for a local animal grooming business, where she ran the office, maintained client relationships and managed social media. “Once I started running the social media for the company, I realized how much I enjoyed it. From there, I started doing more research on marketing and looked into community relations and athletics. I really became interested in the field. I took it as a sign that the position opened at The Woods, so I decided to apply,” Scott said.

In addition to skills in leadership and communication, Scott is excited to build her creative skillset and continue her connection to The Woods. “As a previous student-athlete on the softball team, I’m excited to connect with both the institutional side of my position, as well as the athletics side of SMWC,” Scott said. Scott earned several athletic awards as a student, including 2022 River States Conference Player and Newcomer of the Year, NAIA College Sports Communicators Softball First-team Academic American and 2023 SMWC Female Athlete of the Year.

Since graduating, Scott has stayed connected at SMWC by attending athletic events and Homecoming. Scott previously interned at the White Violet Center for the Sisters of Providence. “I’m most excited to use my previous experience as a student and connect that with my perspective now as a staff member at SMWC. The Woods has always felt like home to me, so it feels great to be back,” Scott said.
