Reunion, an event that brings Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (SMWC) alumni together, will be held May 21-23 with in-person and virtual events. After the celebrations were halted in 2020 due to COVID, multiple classes will be in the spotlight.
This year will feature classes ending in 0, 1, 5 and 6, with a special emphasis on those celebrating their golden and silver milestones.
“We’re excited for our alums to come back to fellowship with each other and be a part of their beloved Woods,” Sarah Mahady ’05, director of alumni relations, said. “It’s been nearly two years since we were able to come together, and I know many are looking forward to the chance to come home again.”
Alumni and guests participating in the residential Reunion experience and the in-person events are asked to abide by the Safe Celebration Pomeroy Promise, which asks attendees to respect the College’s COVID-19 protocols. This includes completing the COVID-19 vaccination process or having a positive COVID-19 antigen test result or negative COVID-19 test within 48 hours prior to arrival. On campus, alumni and guests will be expected to wear masks in all public spaces, maintain six feet physical distancing and frequently wash hands or use hand sanitizer.
While programming continues to be finalized, a welcome dinner, the Golden Jubilee reception, “We Remember, We Celebrate” ceremony and the Reunion Banquet will take place.
“We will make it an experience that is both enjoyable and safe,” Mahady said.
