Members of the Student Senate and Presidential Corps were there for the event with President King, Onyx and Little Onyx. senior Polet Horsely, president of the Presidential Corps, was served the first drink of the newly reopened café and also recited a blessing to open the event.
Heavenly Father, for 181 years, you have poured out blessing upon blessing, in the life of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College.
We thank you, for the excitement of this morning’s celebration of the reopening of The Woods Café; for this gathering.
Bless our College, we pray, Lord, in our academic rigor, and in our spiritual striving, to be the sons and daughters of God you call us to be.
Bless, as well, we pray, Lord, our time together today as we take the time to celebrate those who have embarked on the education opportunities and continue to remind us that all we do here today and the days ahead are for the greater glory of Your and for the service of Saint Mother Theodore Guerin.
Students, faculty and staff are excited to have the café back open on campus. Along with We Proudly Serve Starbucks drinks, the café will also serve sandwiches, soups, salads, sushi and other grab-and-go items from Bon Appétit. The Café will be open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
